SUMMARY:Rogue Mahone
DESCRIPTION:The German band Rogue Mahone have been bringing Irish folk-punk to life for over 32 years\, performing songs by The Pogues\, The Popes\, and Shane MacGowan\, alongside their own originals and traditional tunes. Featuring mandolin\, banjo\, accordion\, guitar\, bass\, and drums – often joined by brass and guest musicians – they’ve played festivals and pubs across northern Germany\, supported acts such as The Rumjacks and The Mahones\, and now return to Ireland with Irish singer Eamonn Mullarkey. \nEAMONN is a vocalist from Sligo. He has been covering Shane’s songs with a very similar voice for many years and has collaborated with many Musicians as recently SHARON SHANNON and STEVE EARL. He is also the Lead Vocalist of the Sligo Punk Band CHURCH HOUSE CREEPERS. \nMembers of ROGUE MAHONE met EAMONN\, who also sang at Shane’s funeral\, by chance at the unveiling of Shane MacGowan‘s mural in Nenagh in October 2024. A few pints later\, they played some Pogues tunes in Phil Ryan’s Pub together\, what matched perfectly as they share the same passion for this music (all to be seen on FB\, INSTA and TIKTOK). So the idea was born and fired by public demand to do a little Ireland Tour in 2025 with Eamonn and play some Pogues-Tribute-Shows as a unique collaboration between a German band and an Irish singer\, of course\, also to honour Shane MacGowan and The Pogues. \nNow they are returning to start the St. Patrick’s Week in Eamonn’s homebase\, Sligo\, at the legendary Hawk’s Well Theatre.

SUMMARY:The Man in the Woman's Shoes
DESCRIPTION:A one man show written and performed by Mikel Murfi. \n“Astonishing acting….” New York Times \n“A miniature masterpiece” Times of London \n“Extraordinary physical performance…sharp observational comedy” Sunday Times \nSet in October 1978 – Pope John Paul the First is not long dead\, autumn is closing in and Pat Farnon has ‘some business’ to do in town. \nThe Man In The Woman’s Shoes follows Pat Farnon as he walks to town and back again. It is a beautifully observed piece\, utterly simple and widely praised. The show is funny\, tender and at times downright daft. \nOriginally commissioned by The Hawk’s Well Theatre Sligo and Sligo Co. Council Arts Service as part of the Bealtaine Festival 2012\, The Man In The Woman’s Shoes has toured to Manhattan and Philadelphia in 2015 as well as a sell out\, three week run at the Abbey Theatre on the Peacock stage in Dublin. In 2016 it returned to NYC and also played to full houses over three weeks at the Tricycle Theatre in London. It played again at the Irish Arts Centre in NYC in Sept/ Oct 2018 and has been touring Ireland ever since. \nThe Man in the Woman’s Shoes also plays at the Art Deco Theatre\, Ballymote\, on Friday 20th February. Also at Art Deco you can catch Murfi’s acclaimed companion piece I Hear You and Rejoice on Friday\, 27 March. Completing the trilogy\, The Mysterious Case of Kitsy Rainey – the third in the series – brings Pat Farnon’s journey to an unexpected and poignant conclusion. This final instalment will be performed at the Art Deco Theatre on Saturday\, 25 April. \n“Astonishing…this is a high-top performance.” NEW YORK TIMES CRITIC’S PICK \n“A miniature masterpiece” The Times\, London \n“Extraordinary physical performance… sharp observational comedy” The Sunday Times \n\n\n\n\nSupported by
