SUMMARY:2026 Feis Shligigh Festival
DESCRIPTION:Feis Shligigh was founded in 1903 as a Gaelic Feis for Connacht. The aims are the revival of our national Language and Heritage. Dr. Douglas Hyde\, first President of Ireland\, adjudicated the Irish Language Competitions in those early days.After a few years the Feis lapsed until 1929 and since then has continued to grow from year to year to the present day. All sections of the Feis ran concurrently during Easter Week until 2006 when\, because of increasing numbers of competitors. \nFeis Shligigh is held annually in memory of Seamus Devins.

SUMMARY:ATU Haunting Halloween Event
DESCRIPTION:The event will be run over one night only\, Monday the 28th of October. Tickets sales from Friday 4th of October at 7pm. \n​The event is indoors through the dark corridors of ATU Sligo. There will be over 130 zombies and creatures deployed to torment you and your family. \nThe event times are from 5 pm to 10pm.  \nThe tickets will be sold in 30 minute slots with the first 30 minute slot 5.00 – 6.30 pm targeted at children under 10 years of age where the zombies and creatures will be passive and friendly to ensure younger children have a positive Halloween experience. \nAfter 8.00 pm\, it will be business as usual where the zombies and creatures will be the real deal and deliver a Halloween experience that will thrill and scare all ages.​ \nBe WARNED this event will be a sell out!!!!! \n​THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR SWAPS OF TIMESLOTS AFTER TICKETS ARE PURCHASED UNLESS ATU HAUNTING CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE EVENT.

DESCRIPTION:International Summer School and Festival\nSligo Jazz Project’s summer school\, Europe’s premier jazz education event\, encompasses a holistic learning and performance experience for musicians of all levels with some of the greatest musicians on the planet\, providing participants with inspiration\, education and entertainment in equal measure\, with a festival completely immersed in the community in beautiful Yeats Country\, Sligo. \nThe summer school programme runs 10am-4pm each day in ATU Sligo and is followed by twice daily jam sessions for participants\, and a full blown international jazz festival programme with the main concerts at the Hawks Well Theatre always the highlight. Featuring Artist in Residence\, Cuban born pianist/composer Elio Villafranca\, Young Artist in residence Scottish pianist Fergus McCreadie\, top US trumpeter Freddie Hendrix and Korean drummer Sun Mi Hong and many others in a 30-strong 2024 teaching faculty of Irish and International jazz stars\, all of whom perform at the jazz festival\, running in sync with the educational event. \nVisit: https://www.sligojazz.ie
