DESCRIPTION:Andy Fairweather Low came to prominence as the lead singer in Amen Corner. The 60s saw them clock up hit after pop hit. Songs such as ‘Bend Me Shape Me’\, ‘Hello Suzy’\, ‘( If Paradise is ) Half As Nice’ are internationally remembered to this day. But if you were paying close attention\, you might have picked up a clue in their first single the magnificent ‘Gin House’ as to Andy’s future musical collaborations. \nSince the early days Andy has gone on to work with Eric Clapton\, George Harrison\, Bob Dylan\, Jimi Hendrix\, David Crosby\, The Band\, Elton John\, Roger Waters\, David Gilmour\, The Who\, BB King\, Joe Cocker\, Steve Winwood\, Linda Ronstadt\, Emmylou Harris\, Joe Satriani\,\, Jeff Beck\, The Impressions\, Lonnie Donegan\, Mary J. Blige\, Georgie Fame\, Bonnie Raitt\, Otis Rush\, Van Morrison\, Chris Barber\, Jackson Browne\, Bill Wyman\, Sheryl Crow\, Pete Townshend\, Kate Bush…… and literally hundreds more. \nNow following a solo path\, his first solo album in 24 years Sweet Soulful Music was released late in 2007 followed by The Very Best Of Andy Fairweather Low which was released in the UK in June 2008 with a Live DVD following hot on it’s heels. \nIn fact Andy has been touring and releasing CD Albums ever since and has built a strong following having now released 10 Albums including Two Live DVD shows and a Three disc Box Set DVD / Double Live CD which debuted in the Amazon Box Set Top 50 in it’s first week of release. DESCRIPTION:A remarkable milestone in local theatre is set to be celebrated this April as The Phoenix Players mark an incredible 80 years on stage with a vibrant and nostalgic anniversary exhibition. \nTaking place in St. Brigid’s Hall\, this special event promises to bring audiences on a journey through eight decades of drama\, laughter\, creativity\, and community spirit. For many\, it will be a chance to reminisce — and for others\, an opportunity to discover the legacy of one of the area’s most enduring drama groups. \nAdding to the experience\, a dedicated audio-visual reel will showcase snippets from productions across the decades\, capturing unforgettable moments from the stage. Visitors will even have the unique chance to step onto the boards themselves\, exploring old props and getting a true feel for life behind the curtain. \nOf course\, no theatre story would be complete without the tales that happen offstage. The exhibition will also feature funny stories\, backstage mishaps\, and behind-the-scenes chaos — the moments that audiences don’t always see but which make theatre so special. \nThe celebrations continue on Saturday evening\, 25th with a social gathering in Cawley’s Hotel\, where food\, drink\, and storytelling will take centre stage. DESCRIPTION:A remarkable milestone in local theatre is set to be celebrated this April as The Phoenix Players mark an incredible 80 years on stage with a vibrant and nostalgic anniversary exhibition. \nTaking place in St. Brigid’s Hall\, this special event promises to bring audiences on a journey through eight decades of drama\, laughter\, creativity\, and community spirit. DESCRIPTION:A unique night of Music and Song bringing together a multiple of performers from different platforms. Renowned Galway singer Seán Keane will headline the concert\, joined by a full band to perform his well known repertoire of songs. Seán will also join forces on the night with Stephen Doherty\, Michael Rooney & The Ceol Na nÓg Traditional Orchestra. \nThe orchestra under the direction of Stephen Doherty and Michael Rooney features over 70 teenagers from the region and beyond. They will perform a selection of compositions from Michael & Stephen including music from the newly commissioned Peace Plus Suite. As in previous years the orchestra will be joining Seán for some of his classic songs. This will be a unique opportunity to see the talented youth of our region perform with one of Ireland’s best known singers.
