Participants take to the water in dragon boats\, kayaks\, and rowing vessels\, embracing the calming benefits of Blue Mental Health while promoting respect for the waterways and their surrounding ecosystem. \nThe day opens with the symbolic Wakening of the Dragon ceremony\, followed by a heartfelt Flower Ceremony and the opportunity to leave a tribute on the Memory Tree. \nAs the event unfolds\, visitors can engage with a biodiversity workshop\, before gathering at the finish for food\, music\, and shared reflection. \nMore than an event\, Uisce Álainn is an invitation to connect\, remember\, and experience the healing power of water in the heart of Sligo.

DESCRIPTION:A remarkable milestone in local theatre is set to be celebrated this April as The Phoenix Players mark an incredible 80 years on stage with a vibrant and nostalgic anniversary exhibition. \nTaking place in St. Brigid’s Hall\, this special event promises to bring audiences on a journey through eight decades of drama\, laughter\, creativity\, and community spirit. Running from 12–8pm on Saturday 25th April and 12–3pm on Sunday 26th April\, the exhibition is free to attend and open to all. \nVisitors can expect far more than a simple display. This immersive exhibition will shine a spotlight on the rich history of the group\, with each decade carefully curated to tell its own story. From newspaper clippings and vintage posters to cast and crew photographs\, the evolution of the Phoenix Players will be brought vividly to life. \nA treasure trove of props\, costumes\, and memorabilia from past productions will be on display\, alongside some stories of accolades earned over the years. For many\, it will be a chance to reminisce — and for others\, an opportunity to discover the legacy of one of the area’s most enduring drama groups. \nAdding to the experience\, a dedicated audio-visual reel will showcase snippets from productions across the decades\, capturing unforgettable moments from the stage. Visitors will even have the unique chance to step onto the boards themselves\, exploring old props and getting a true feel for life behind the curtain. \nOf course\, no theatre story would be complete without the tales that happen offstage. The exhibition will also feature funny stories\, backstage mishaps\, and behind-the-scenes chaos — the moments that audiences don’t always see but which make theatre so special. \nThe celebrations continue on Saturday evening\, 25th with a social gathering in Cawley’s Hotel\, where food\, drink\, and storytelling will take centre stage. Don is a passionate and talented singer whose impressive performance style has moved audiences all over the world. \nStiffe’s version of the “Dimming of the Day”\, by Richard Thompson won “Vocal Cut of the Year’ at the Live Ireland 2010 Awards. This song featured on his debut solo album\, “Start of a Dream\, which was originally released in 2006\, achieving much critical acclaim. The renowned Irish Music Magazine described the musical quality of the album as being “in the Premier League”.\nThe combination of these three voices has garnered international attention and together they have upcoming Irish\, UK\, European and Canadian tours. \nWhen Sharon Shannon first heard them together she instantly had to have them on her next album! You’ll find many recordings of him on TV and all platforms with Dolores Keane\, Cherish the Ladies\, Sharon Shannon\, Paul Brady Tommy Sands\, & Sean Keane to name but a few. \nTrevor Sexton Known for his powerful voice\, amazing stage presence and exceptional skills across a variety of instruments\, Trevor has become a highly sought-after performer. A phenomenal songwriter too\, with hits like Fairytale topping the charts in Ireland and spreading all over the world. \nTogether\, Ger & Trevor have been touring and selling out venues all over the world in recent years. They have regular tours in the UK\, Europe\, Scandinavia\, the US and back home in Ireland. SUMMARY:A celebration of Music & Song 
DESCRIPTION:A unique night of Music and Song bringing together a multiple of performers from different platforms. Renowned Galway singer Seán Keane will headline the concert\, joined by a full band to perform his well known repertoire of songs. Seán will also join forces on the night with Stephen Doherty\, Michael Rooney & The Ceol Na nÓg Traditional Orchestra. \nThe orchestra under the direction of Stephen Doherty and Michael Rooney features over 70 teenagers from the region and beyond. They will perform a selection of compositions from Michael & Stephen including music from the newly commissioned Peace Plus Suite. As in previous years the orchestra will be joining Seán for some of his classic songs. This will be a unique opportunity to see the talented youth of our region perform with one of Ireland’s best known singers.

DESCRIPTION:Feis Shligigh was founded in 1903 as a Gaelic Feis for Connacht. The aims are the revival of our national Language and Heritage. Dr. Douglas Hyde\, first President of Ireland\, adjudicated the Irish Language Competitions in those early days.After a few years the Feis lapsed until 1929 and since then has continued to grow from year to year to the present day. All sections of the Feis ran concurrently during Easter Week until 2006 when\, because of increasing numbers of competitors. \nFeis Shligigh is held annually in memory of Seamus Devins.

DESCRIPTION:This year’s festival will be held in a marquee installation in Queen Maeve Square. The festivities begin on March 16th with performances by Music Generation\, taking place in the marquee from approximately 6pm -10 pm \nOn St. Patrick’s Day\, the marquee will host “The Scruffy Kids Show” from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This junior disco\, hosted by MC Scruffy\, includes special guests and interactive games. SUMMARY:Rogue Mahone
DESCRIPTION:The German band Rogue Mahone have been bringing Irish folk-punk to life for over 32 years\, performing songs by The Pogues\, The Popes\, and Shane MacGowan\, alongside their own originals and traditional tunes. Featuring mandolin\, banjo\, accordion\, guitar\, bass\, and drums – often joined by brass and guest musicians – they’ve played festivals and pubs across northern Germany\, supported acts such as The Rumjacks and The Mahones\, and now return to Ireland with Irish singer Eamonn Mullarkey. \nEAMONN is a vocalist from Sligo. He has been covering Shane’s songs with a very similar voice for many years and has collaborated with many Musicians as recently SHARON SHANNON and STEVE EARL. He is also the Lead Vocalist of the Sligo Punk Band CHURCH HOUSE CREEPERS. \nMembers of ROGUE MAHONE met EAMONN\, who also sang at Shane’s funeral\, by chance at the unveiling of Shane MacGowan‘s mural in Nenagh in October 2024. A few pints later\, they played some Pogues tunes in Phil Ryan’s Pub together\, what matched perfectly as they share the same passion for this music (all to be seen on FB\, INSTA and TIKTOK). So the idea was born and fired by public demand to do a little Ireland Tour in 2025 with Eamonn and play some Pogues-Tribute-Shows as a unique collaboration between a German band and an Irish singer\, of course\, also to honour Shane MacGowan and The Pogues. \nNow they are returning to start the St. Patrick’s Week in Eamonn’s homebase\, Sligo\, at the legendary Hawk’s Well Theatre.
