The Coleman Traditional Festival returns this year between the 13th and 17th August in Gurteen in beautiful south Sligo!
This festival is named in honour of Michael Coleman who was one of the most influential traditional musicians in history. The village of Gurteen is home to the Coleman Irish Music Centre where you can always learn about the story of traditional music in this special part of Sligo along with enjoying concerts, events and the on site music shop.
Wednesday 13th August:
- Official opening by Attracta Ní Bhrádaigh – Uachtarán of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.
- Followed by concert with the Ox Mountain Quartet
Thursday 14th August:
- Junior music seisiúns with Michael Hurley and special guest Mossie Martin
- All junior musicians welcome
Friday 15th August:
- Film Night – An Cailín Ciúin / The Quiet Girl
Saturday 16th August:
- Jerry O’Sullivan, Katie Murray & PJ Hernon
Sunday 17th August:
- Summer seisiún at the Coleman Cottage, Mount Irwin
