We want you to join The Totally Made Up Orchestra, July 26th, @ The Black Pig Festival 2025, Enniscrone.

The inspirational Sid Peacock brings his Totally Made Up Orchestra project to Enniscrone, Co Sligo & he wants you to join. While it’s just for a few hours, we promise that the memories will last a lifetime!

We’re looking for musicians and music lovers of any age, any instrument, any ability to be part of the beautiful music phenomena that is The Totally Made Up Orchestra , a unique community music-making project.

Anyone who has previously taken part in the orchestra has found it a joyous, uplifting and unforgettable experience!

How it works?

Guided by the inspirational Sid Peacock you will devise, create and perform a completely new piece of music from scratch over the course of just a few hours. (this is then performed at the 2pm public performance)

It doesn’t matter if you have been playing for years or minutes! It doesn’t matter if you are 9 or 90! If you can read music – great! If you don’t read music – even better!

All you need to be part of this amazing ensemble is a desire to be heard, a desire to play with other people, an open mind and a big creative heart.

Super fun and wild adventurous music guaranteed! Musicians of all levels and all ages are very welcome.

What do I do?

To express an interest in joining the orchestra, you simply fill out this form to attend the morning workshop and performance on Saturday July 26th.

Please note: workshop places are limited and we’re looking for a spread of age groups.

Ideal age group is 8 yrs & above.

The event manager will contact you to confirm your place.

The free public performance happens shortly after the rehearsal and is free and but ticketed.

PLEASE NOTE: Participants must bring their own instruments (where necessary) including amps etc for electronic instruments if required.

About Sid Peacock

Sid Peacock has been described as one of the most exciting composers in that difficult-to-define area between jazz, contemporary music and improv.

With musical interests spanning many genres and cultures, Sid has worked with musicians from around the world conducting residencies in Poland, Berlin, Paris, Ireland and as PRSF China musician in residence with Sichuan Opera Troupe in Chongqing, China.

Sid has extensive experience of working with a wide range of people and communities to develop and express creativity.

From youth and community projects across UK, delivering Peace & Reconciliation projects in Northern Ireland, through to acting as Artistic Director since 2007 for Refugee Arts organisation Celebrating Sanctuary – an organisation that assists local artists from refugee backgrounds in finding performance opportunities and developing their professional practice.

As a firm believer in the power of music to transform lives, Sid works regularly as a producer and educator with organisations such as Youth Music, mac Birmingham and Moving on Music, Belfast.

The project was funded by the Creative Ireland Programme (Sligo) 2023-2027

This event is produced by Ronan Quinn in partnership with Black Pig Festival.
