Discover one of the world’s most celebrated photography exhibitions in the heart of Sligo this summer. The World Press Photo Exhibition 2026 comes to Sligo as part of Cultúr 2026: Sharing Ireland’s Culture, making it the only Irish venue to host this internationally acclaimed exhibition.
Presented by Sligo County Council, the outdoor exhibition features the 42 winning projects from the 69th annual World Press Photo Contest, selected from 57,376 entries submitted by photographers from 141 countries. Through powerful photographs, photo stories and long-term documentary projects, visitors can explore the defining events, people and issues shaping our world.
Located in Queen Maeve Square, the free walk-through exhibition can be enjoyed at your own pace, with multilingual self-guided audio tours available via QR codes. Whether you’re a local resident or visiting Sligo, this unique cultural experience offers the opportunity to engage with award-winning photography in a vibrant outdoor setting.
