Sligo Rovers are our professional football club based. Founded in 1928, the club has a long and proud history with a passionate fan base known for its unwavering support.
Their Men’s and Women’s senior teams compete in the League of Ireland Premier Division from their home in the Showgrounds, Sligo.
You are welcome to call in to The Showgrounds anytime you are in Sligo and see the ground and enjoy the Superstore on site – you can pick up a jersey or scarf and learn more about the fascinating history of the club with their great wall panels located throughout the ground.
You can go to any of the games too and roar on your support for the bit ‘o red!
Fully Supporter Owned – One of the last
The club is fully supporter owned and open to all. Unlike other clubs competing in the Premier Division, they are not privately owned, and are proud to be one of the last fully supporter-owned clubs competing in the top tier.
Often fighting against the odds, the club has enjoyed considerable success over the years. This success can be attributed to the commitment and hard work of their dedicated supporters, volunteers, and the wider community.
When success comes on the pitch, it’s earned together.
Regional Club
The club is proud to be a regional club representing the wider community in the North-West and West of Ireland. Their academy is made up of players hailing from across the region who represent the club. The club also enjoys increasing support from the Irish diaspora and fans around the world.
They are proud to offer programmes at every level, welcoming people of all backgrounds and abilities to participate. No matter where you’re from or where you are, they invite anyone to get behind the club.
