Strand Campus, the newly rebranded Technology Park

Strand Campus the newly rebranded Technology Park aims to become an international digital gaming development hub, further enhancing ‘Silicon Sligo’s growing reputation as a destination technology cluster.

To reflect the current and future growth of Strand Campus under the leadership of chairperson Vincent Nally, the Board of Directors with the support of Sligo Leader Partnership Company and Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) have embarked on a rebranding and media marketing strategy.

The vision of the Board is to create a distinctive modern brand which emulates the vibrant and exciting nature of leading-edge business. The rebranding of Strand Campus is the first step in the development of the first international digital gaming hub in Ireland.

In late 2018 the Board of Strand Campus secured funding of €1.9 million through the Enterprise Ireland Regional Development Fund. The funding is to develop a state of the art digital gaming hub to support the growth of gaming companies and associated businesses.

The purpose built gaming hub will break ground in early 2020 subject to planning and it’s something which Strand Campus Manager Paul Higgins says the board are eagerly looking forward to

“The gaming industry globally is worth over $130 billion. That’s bigger than the movie and music businesses combined which is astonishing. Together with our partners, Enterprise Ireland and Sligo Leader Partnership we’re confident that we can attract companies to locate at Strand Campus”.

The ambitious yet achievable aim is founded on over 20 years of success in quietly providing meeting and office space for start-ups and the current campus is home to over 20 businesses employing over 80 people.

“Strand Campus has all the ingredients needed by digital gaming businesses. High speed connectivity, great meeting and networking spaces and amazing lifestyle are all here. You can walk to work, there are no traffic jams and employers are realising that they can operate globally from a base here in Strandhill on the amazing Wild Atlantic Way.”

As the Strand Campus prepare for the official launch of the new brand next week the future of Silicon Sligo continues to grow brighter and more promising by the day. Watch this cyberspace…
