Their founder and lead instructor, Zuhé Coronil, is a passionate surfer with 16 years of experience and a love for the ocean that runs deep. Having travelled the world in search of the perfect wave, Zuhé knows firsthand the transformative power of surfing and its ability to bring people together.

At Atlantic Surf School, their mission is to introduce as many people as possible to the joy of surfing. They believe that anyone can learn to surf, regardless of age, fitness level, or previous experience. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced surfer looking to improve your skills, their expert instructors are here to help.

But they don’t stop at surfing. They believe in going the extra mile to enrich the lives of their students and the local community. That’s why they offer arts activities, drumming workshops, and opportunities to engage with local businesses. They are also passionate about creating programs that promote inclusion for kids from vulnerable backgrounds and adults, as well as supporting mental health initiatives.

About Strandhill

Strandhill is a remarkable village that boasts world class surf condition, a world class links golf course, a beautiful beach, stunning landscape and gorgeous cafes, bars and restaurants. It is home to the National Surf Centre where you can enjoy a hot shower, clean changing facilities and book surf lessons. They have a fabulous room available for hire that is ideal for corporate groups with a stunning sea view.

It’s name in Irish is An Leathros which loosely translates as ‘The half promontory’ and it is just a short distance from Sligo town. You can hop on the S2 bus which connects it with Sligo town and on to Rosses Point village. Sligo Airport is based here along with remote working hubs and festivals and events regularly held throughout the year.

This is a fantastic coastal seaside location and always popular with families. Please note that swimming is forbidden on Strandhill beach due to the extremely dangerous rip tides.
