Markree is an exclusive events venue, and should they not have a function booked 3 months out, they then sell their luxury accommodation on their website for guests to reserve.

They have 10 suitably appointed and modern bedrooms on the estate in addition to Markree House, consisting of seven double rooms (one accessible room), two triple rooms each sleeping three guests and one family room which sleeps four guests.

Promising a great nights sleep – their beds are Respa mattresses with duvets and luxury bed linen. Tea and Coffee making facilities are available and fresh chilled water in each room. Smart Tv’s are also provided in each bedroom, allowing you to relax and catch up on the daily news or watch a movie. Fresh Towels are provided and the local luxurious Voya bathroom products are a nice feature for your stay.

This is a lovingly and extensively converted stable block dating from approximately 1820 which was originally part of Markree Caste estate. A listed building that has been meticulously transformed from coach houses, horse stables, hay and grain lofts into a stunning accommodation and exclusive event venue , painstakingly maintaining many of the original features that make this property so unique. Careful attention to detail the venue holds its own unique place in preserving the history and heritage of this much loved property.

In Irish Collooney is called Cúil Mhuine, meaning ‘nook of the thicket and it was the site of a very important battle in Irish history during the 1798 rebellion.
