• Strandhill, County Sligo

Strandhill Surf School Co.Sligo was established in 2006 and fast became one of the leading surf schools in Ireland due to its reputation for quality service and professional, enthusiastic instructors. Owner and operator David Mulcahy has grown up Surfing in Strandhill and has vast knowlege of the local surf breaks and conditions.

Strandhill Surf School sets itself apart by their great beachfront premises, in walking distance to the waves and by a professional approach to our Sligo based Surf lessons.

Your surfing equipment includes a beginner’s foam surf board, ideal for learning and a warm wetsuit and boots. In cold conditions wetsuit gloves and hoods are available. Their wetsuits are restocked every year ensuring good condition and are thoroughly washed and dried after every lesson. They also have a range of intermediate surf boards for more experienced surfers.

Their Surf instructors are fully qualified Surf Instructors and Beach Lifeguards with valuable local knowledge of the beach conditions. The head instructors, who have been at the surf school for a number of years, have extensive experience of teaching surf lessons and give valuable tuition and encouragement.

New instructors are recruited and selected on the basis of their enthusiasm as well as surfing experience, creating a fun environment for individuals, groups and especially for their popular Children’s Summer Camps.

Strandhill Surf School is Irish Surfing Association (ISA) approved meaning they meet the high standards set by the governing body. Your safety is important to them so the instructors are with you at all times and keep in communication with their office through walkie-talkie radios ensuring a safer environment for your lesson.

After your surf lesson you can enjoy the local cafes, bars, restaurants and great local ice- cream as well as nearby amenities. Check out our live Webcams, streaming the surf conditions daily.
