Escape to Éalú Lodge – Sligo’s Newest Accommodation for Great Escapers

Escape to Éalú Lodge - Sligo’s Newest Accommodation for Great Escapers

A new chapter in adventure tourism begins with the grand opening of Éalú Lodge. The ultimate escape for those seeking the perfect balance of adventure, relaxation and the chance to explore the beauty of Sligo.

Opening its doors on January 10th 2025, this 21-bed lodge takes its name from the Irish word for “escape,” reflecting its mission to provide a peaceful retreat and a nod to its unique location near Sligo’s historic Jail. Once a symbol of confinement, the area has been reimagined as a gateway to freedom and adventure, inviting guests to break free from routine and immerse themselves in Sligo’s stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and unique charm.

Located between Sligo’s lively town centre and the scenic Doorly Park, Éalú Lodge has the best of both worlds. Guests can immerse themselves in the town’s vibrant charm or explore nearby river trails and serene natural landscapes, all just moments from the lodge.

Brought to you by the team behind Northwest Adventure Tours, Éalú Lodge offers the perfect package for adventure seekers. Book your stay alongside a guided hiking tour and experience Sligo in a whole new way. Relax your mind in nature and rest your head at Éalú Lodge.

“We created Éalú Lodge to give people an adventure escape, where they can unwind, explore, and experience the beauty of Sligo. It’s the perfect place to relax and recharge, whether you’re here for adventure or simply to take a break.” says William Britton of Éalú Lodge.

Éalú Lodge offers modern en-suite rooms, comfortably accommodating up to 21 guests. Guests can unwind in a cosy common area with games or make use of a hot desk work area.

With a focus on sustainability, Éalú Lodge incorporates environmentally conscious practices throughout, including keep cups provided instead of single use cups for your take away coffee, promoting waste reduction and a greener travel experience.

Adventure awaits right on your doorstep, with guided hikes and excursions available through Northwest Adventure Tours. From climbing the iconic Benbulben to paddleboarding, guests can immerse themselves in the stunning landscapes of Sligo. On-site bike rentals and immediate access to purpose-built cycling trails, just 75 meters from the front door, make exploration effortless. Enjoy locally sourced coffee to fuel your adventures, making Éalú Lodge the ultimate base for relaxation and discovery.

“We were lucky enough to be the first guests at the new Éalú Lodge… gorgeous accommodation and a super host, who looked after us for the weekend. Would highly recommend as a base for exploring Sligo.” shared by a group of guests who got a sneak peek during the lodge’s exclusive trial weekend.
