Kiwi Girl Boat Tours Shortlisted for Prestigious Outsider Award

Kiwi Girl Boat Tours in Mullaghmore has been shortlisted for an Outsider Irish Outdoor Experience Award, one of the most respected accolades in Ireland’s outdoor and adventure sector.

The awards are run by Outsider.ie, Ireland’s leading platform dedicated to outdoor adventure, wellbeing and active lifestyles. Each year, Outsider celebrates the very best experiences the country has to offer – from coastal adventures and mountain trails to immersive nature-based activities that connect people with place. To be shortlisted is a significant achievement and a real endorsement of quality, creativity and visitor experience.

Based in the beautiful harbour village of Mullaghmore, Kiwi Girl Boat Tours has quickly become one of Sligo’s standout coastal experiences. The tours offer unforgettable journeys along Sligo’s stunning coastline, with opportunities to encounter dolphins, seals, seabirds and the rich marine life of the Atlantic.

What sets Kiwi Girl apart is its strong emphasis on sustainability, education and respect for the marine environment, combined with a warm, personal approach that makes every trip memorable. It’s an experience that captures the raw beauty of Sligo’s seascape while fostering a deeper connection to the ocean.

Public voting is now open for the Outsider Awards, and online voting closes on 6 February.

Kiwi Girl’s nomination also shines a spotlight on the incredible range of water-based experiences available across County Sligo, all set against the backdrop of the Wild Atlantic Way.

From surfing world-class waves in Strandhill, Rosses Point and Enniscrone, to sea swimming along the coastline, kayaking on Lough Gill, stand-up paddleboarding on calm inland waters, and coastal walks and swims in West Sligo, the county offers something for every level of adventure. In South Sligo, tranquil lakes and rivers provide ideal settings for fishing, paddling and slow exploration, giving a whole different experience to the Atlantic coastline.

Together, these experiences highlight Sligo as a destination where land and sea meet, offering visitors authentic, invigorating and unforgettable outdoor adventures year-round.
